Word of the week : Talent

Now, every week, My Sherpa chooses a word to highlight, because it’s “trendy”. Because there needs to be an explanation, and, above all, because it echoes our values and principles.
Talent

Today, focus on

« Talent ».

A talent is the ability of an individual to excel at a particular activity, according to Wikipedia.

The notion of talent suffers from a lack of clear and precise definition. For most companies, it is a question of “high potential”, of hyper experts, but some speak of “rare skills”, which is markedly different.

If we stick to its strict definition, talent is a “particular ability to do something.” A capacity, a remarkable gift. He is also a gifted person for an activity. ” It’s hard to understand here what talent can mean for a company. The definition of talent in the company is generally incomplete or difficult to transfer from one environment to another. On the other hand, talent management as far as it is concerned is a notion shared by many structures. It appeared in a context of both the hyper competitiveness of companies and the scarcity of human resources.
