Word of the week : ESS

From now on, every week, My Sherpa chooses a word to put forward, because it’s “in fashion”. Because it must be explained, and, above all, because it is echoed in our values and principles.

Today, focus on

« ESS ».

The Social and Solidarity Economy is based on common values: a goal of general or collective interest for companies in the sector, democratic governance, territorial anchoring and limited profitability.

Associations (1901 law), cooperatives, mutual societies, foundations, social and / or solidarity enterprises: in 2015 in France, the SSE included some 200,000 structures, which employed 2.38 million employees, and contributed 10% of French GDP and nearly 12.7% of private jobs.
